About Us

Our Children, Our Treasure
The Jewel Michaels Foundation for Education was founded by Queen Jewel Michaels, crowned Miss Teen Pearl of Africa 2024 and Miss Teen of the Universe Uganda 2024. At only 14 years old, Queen Jewel saw the struggles children face in staying in school and was moved to act.
Driven by faith and compassion, our mission is simple yet powerful:
Objectives
- Create a running Scholarship scheme for underprivileged children to go to school, stay in school and complete school.
- Mobilise privileged children and parents in Uganda to join the compassion sub-initiative of the Foundation called the Sofia Initiative that sponsors underprivileged children to go to school, stay in school and complete school.
- Support small scale household projects of chicken and goat rearing for households who send their children to school.
- Undertake Cross-Country Study Tours for Children to learn from Uganda’s development sites including cities, towns, farms, childrens learning centres and tourist resources.

Inspired by her own journey in pageantry, Queen Jewel uses her voice and platform to raise awareness about the millions of children who drop out of school every year due to poverty, lack of resources, or social challenges. Through small acts of kindness—like paying school fees, donating school packs, and visiting special needs schools—she’s reminding communities and leaders alike that every child’s dream matters.
With the support of national leaders, development partners, and her deep faith, Queen Jewel hopes to see a Uganda where every child, regardless of background, finishes school and discovers their God-given potential.
Together, we are grooming leaders of this generation—one child, one classroom, one community at a time.
