When Jewel Michaels entered the world of pageantry, she didn’t just aim for crowns—she aimed for change. Unlike typical contestants, Jewel used her pageant platform to spotlight urgent social issues: education inequality, child rights, and faith-based empowerment.
In a landmark move, Jewel publicly declared the importance of God in her pageant journey—emphasizing spiritual strength as vital for overcoming societal challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic and child exploitation. This made her stand out not just as a queen, but as a voice of purpose.
During the Miss Teen of the Universe Pageant in India (October 2024), Jewel’s advocacy reached a global audience. She showcased Uganda’s rich culture and beauty while promoting her Foundation’s educational mission. Her efforts were recognized with titles like 2nd Runner-Up, Best Gown, and Best Ramp Walk.
Back home, Jewel visited schools, met leaders like Uganda’s Vice President Jessica Alupo, and collaborated with organizations such as UNICEF and UPPC, delivering books, school supplies, and hope.
For Jewel, every catwalk is an opportunity to walk children toward a better future.
