Education is every child’s right—but in Uganda, thousands of children miss this chance due to poverty, neglect, and societal challenges. Recognizing this crisis, Jewel Michaels founded the Jewel Michaels Foundation for Education—a powerful initiative designed to break down these barriers and create lasting change.
Through this foundation, Jewel has already sponsored the education of 30 children from underprivileged backgrounds in regions like Kyanja, Kirinya, Katakwi, Mbarara, and Pakele. Her vision is bold: Universal Primary and Secondary Education for all Ugandan children, aligned with the government’s UPE and USE programs.
Over the next five years, her foundation plans to:
-
Support 500 families to improve household income through livestock and farming.
-
Upgrade 10 schools with clean water and safe infrastructure.
-
Provide full scholarships and trauma counseling for children in special situations (CiSS).
With strategic partnerships involving government, development agencies, and grassroots leaders, Jewel’s Foundation is not just talking about change—it’s making it happen.
